Our Level 3 Testing and Periodic Package has been developed to give you the most comprehensive combination of theoretical classroom learning and hands on practical experience in our purpose built workshops. Our Level 3 Inspection and Testing workshops were designed with this qualification in mind ensuring you will get plenty of opportunities to practice and fine tune your testing skills on our custom built rigs.
Our course runs for seven days consecutively at our training centre (either Monday-Friday, then Monday-Tuesday or Thursday-Friday, then Monday-Friday) with your assessments being completed on the last 2 days. With the EAL course there is no written assignment and therefore you will find out if you have passed on the afternoon of the final day.

Who is the EAL Inspection & Testing Course for?
The EAL Inspection and Testing Course is ideal for existing electricians with a good working knowledge of testing and inspection procedures and those wanting to improve their current qualifications. So if you are looking to enhance your existing skills, knowledge and qualifications then this is the right course for you.
When booking our EAL Level 3 Inspection, Testing & Periodic Course, you will have the option of paying for the course in full (£945 inc. VAT) or reserving your space by paying a deposit (£450 inc. VAT).

EAL Testing & Inspection Course Overview
This EAL Level 3 award 603/2625/6 has been put together to replace the old City & Guilds 2391 qualification which has now expired. It is an alternative qualification to the City & Guilds 2391-52 electrical course. All the exams and assessments associated with this EAL course are undertaken before you leave the training centre, to give you the best chance of getting the result you deserve.
EAL are an awarding body, equivalent to City & Guilds. This qualification is recognised by Ofqual and accepted by employers in the industry and the Part P Scheme Providers.
The objective of the EAL Inspection and Testing Course is to give you a good understanding of the theory and practices required to do both a periodic inspection and initial verification, and commissioning of electrical installations. The course will improve both your inspection, testing and periodic inspection skills.

The requirements of Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection & Testing
- Health and safety requirements
How to work in accordance with the relevant guidance to ensure that the inspection and testing process is carried out in a safe manner
- Safe isolation
Carrying out safe isolation procedures on 3 phase distribution boards and circuits
- Periodic inspection of electrical installations
Completing the periodic inspection of an existing electrical installation
- Dead testing
Building on your existing dead testing knowledge, you will learn how to carry out testing on 3 phase electrical equipment and circuits
- Live testing
Adding to your existing live testing skills, you will learn how to carry out live testing on 3 phase electrical equipment and circuits
- Interpretation of test results
Understanding how to interpret the measurements taken during the testing process
- Electrical Installation Condition Reports

Course duration
The EAL Inspection & Testing Course takes place over 7 days. The core course times are Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Please take a look at our course FAQ’S for further course information.

The exams
At the end of your course you will complete an online multiple choice exam and two practical assessments. The online exam is open book so you will be able to take your course book into the exam with you.
The Online exam will consist of:
60 multiple choice questions – 2 hours
The 2 Practical assessments will be:
Periodic inspection assessment – 1 hour
Periodic inspection and testing assessment – 2.5 hours

These books are ONLY for sale to customers who have booked a course with us. Books will not be posted out and will be available on the first day of your course.
Entry requirements
We recommend that you have attended our C&G Level 2 2392-10 Inspection & Testing Course or are an existing electrician with good knowledge and experience in inspection and testing procedures. You will need to be 18 or over to attend this EAL course.

Do you offer the EAL Inspection & Testing Course online?
No, we believe that this course should be as hands on as possible. That is why we have built and developed custom made workshops to allow you as much time as possible to practice your testing skills.
What qualification will I gain from this EAL Level 3 Inspection, Testing & Periodic Course?
You will gain an EAL Level 3 Award in Electrical Installation Inspection, Testing, Certification and Reporting (603/2625/6)
Can I carry out periodic inspections after the EAL course?
Yes, you will be competent to carry out periodic inspections on properties on successful completion of this course.
Will I be able to work on three-phase installations after this course?
Yes, you will be deemed competent to carry out three-phase testing and inspecting on successful completion of the EAL course.
Do I need any experience before doing the EAL Level 3 Testing and Inspection Course?
Before attending the course, as a minimum we recommend either holding a Level 2 Inspection and Testing qualification (such as the 2392) or having substantial experience in inspection and testing single phase installations.
Do I need to bring any test equipment or tools to the course?
Although we provide all testing equipment, for the Level 3 courses we recommend bringing along your own test equipment as this is what you will be most comfortable using.
When will I know if I have passed the course?
On the final day of your EAL course, you will need to carry out two practical assessments and one online multiple-choice exam. As there is no written exam within this course, you will find out the same day if you have been successful.
